iDea Invoice for Mac OS X

User Manual


It is specifically made for Apple computers, benefiting from the beauty and efficiency of Mac OS X.
Quick and reliable, because it is written in Cocoa computer language, unlike, for example, the Java-based applications.
You can invoice in outstanding quality on your favourite Apple computer.

Database path:
Users/<Username>/Library/Containers/6DS.iDeaInvoice/Data/Library/Application Support/iDea Invoice

The Library folder under Users is a hidden one. If you want to reach it, permit in the way below:

1. Run software Terminal, which can be found at /Applications/Utilities.

2. Write in -or copy out- the following order, and press button Enter after:
chflags nohidden ~/Library

To be done before making the first invoice


  1. Press the right Settings button and choose Company. Fill in the form precisely, and save it.
  2. Choose the Parameters tab and enter the required parameters. You can add new parameters by pressing button +. After you entered them, press Enter.
  3. You can delete parameters by pressing button -. If any of the master datas are already in use in the document, then it can not be deleted.
  4. Choose the General menu. Edit the options implicitly.
    Starting invoice serial numbers can only be added before the making of the first invoice.
  5. Close the Options menu and press the left Settings button. Here you can edit the documents by your facade.
  6. Pull the size-pre-edited logo image to the square in the top-left corner.
  7. Peg partners and items.

Adding, modifying or deleting clients


  1. Choose the Clients button.
  2. Press button + at the bottom.
  3. Fill in the form.
  4. Edit payment mode options, if necessary. Options edited here will automatically take effect during the making of the document, if you choose a client.
  5. Adjust discounts if necessary. Counting of discounts will atomatically take effect during the making of documents. If the document already contains item lines, and you choose a client after that, the program will ask a question before changing the options.
  6. Save the new client.

For modifying, choose the client you want to edit and double-click on it, or click on the button representing a pencil.

For deleting, choose the client you want to delete, and press button - at the bottom. If the client exsist on any document, it can not be deleted.

Adding, modifying or deleting items


  1. Choose the Items button.
  2. Press button + at the bottom.
  3. Fill in the form.
  4. You can adopt TAX, quantitative unit parameters from here too, by pressing button +. After fixing it, press refresh next to button +.
  5. Fill in notes if necessary. Notes will only appear here, not on the document. You can read more about notes that can be added to item lines below.
  6. Save the new Product/Service.

For modifying, choose the item you want to edit and double-click on it, or click on the button representing a pencil.

For deleting, choose the item you want to delete and press button - at the bottom. If the item exists on any document, it can not be deleted.

Making Invoice, Quotation, Pro Forma, Delivery Note, Credit Memo


  1. Press the Documents + button.
  2. Choose which kind of documen would you like to make from the top-right corner.
  3. Choose which language would you like to make the document with from the top-right corner.
  4. Choose the mode of payment from the top-right corner.
  5. Enter the necessary dates on the top-right corner.
  6. For changing own bank account, click on the emboldened bank account number, if you would like to choose from many.
  7. Choose a client and pull it to the document making area.
  8. Choose items and pull them to the document makingarea, one-by-one. By pressing button + and -, you can add new (not pre-saved), or delete item lines.
  9. Add notes to the headers above item lines, if necessary.
  10. If you would like to make a foreign exchange invoice, choose the kind of currency and enter the rate of exchange. Choose if you want to work with the saved unit prices, or with the ones the item line has. Press Enter, or button Calculate.
  11. Check on the printer, the papers, etc. Check the preview, then finalize the document. To do this, use the bottom-left menu.

If you would like to finalize it later, you can save the document as a draft.

Options:

Cancelling


  1. Press the Documents first button.
  2. Click once on the invoice you want to cancel.
  3. Choose the Cancel / Undo Cancel menu at the bottom-left corner or select from popup menu on selected document.

Edit titles & Logo


  1. Press the Settings first button.
  2. Click on the Edit titles button.
  3. Edit titles in Custom titles column.
  4. Drag & Drop your high resolution logo.

Discount hidden


  1. Press the Design menu.
  2. Click on the Discount hidden button.
